Teaching

I have been a teaching assistant for seven quarters.  Five of those quarters, I taught EPS SCI 1: Introduction to Geology, and one quarter I taught EPS SCI 165: Introduction to Geomorphology.  In EPS SCI 1, I plan and run three two hours lab sections per week.  For half the quarter, students learn about minerals and rocks, and for the other half of the quarter, students learn about relative dating, earthquakes, maps, and geomorphology.  In EPS SCI 165 lab, I ran lab sections.  Here, students learned the basics of ArcGIS.  We also took 1 weekend field trip where students learned about fluvial geomorphology and trenching.

I have also mentored two students for their undergraduate research projects.  These students helped me with sample preparation as well as determined inclusion assemblages in Archean and Hadean zircons from western Australia.

Lastly, I have planned three student Q&A sessions aimed at undergraduates in the physical sciences who are applying to graduate school.
